How's #NZreadaloud4 going in Team Awesome

Hi all

We are just heading into the 4th week of our FIRST ever #NZREADALOUD.  To find out more about it visit
https://newzealandreadaloud.wordpress.com/

We are reading

We have been on  a steep learning journey to be able to share our understanding of the book with other children our age around the country who are also reading it.

We have learnt how to:

  • use Edmodo to share our learning
  • create a vocaroo to introduce ourselves, explain how we connected to Conrad ( the main character), and shared a prediction.
  • add text to self, text to text and text to world connections on a google doc (so we can see what other connections are being made)
  • Create an image that explains a particular part in the story- observe others images to see what part they have chosen and what they think is happening....

and we will have 3 more weeks of it.

Phew.

We know that Leonie Agnew ( the clever NZ author)  is following what we are doing and we can't wait to hear what she has to say.

on to the next chapter..... the book will come to camp with us too.

Happy reading all

  1. Hey Steph... it is super exciting to hear you speak about the amazing learning you and your kids are doing as you work your way through the 6 weeks of the #NZreadaloud. I am now doing my 5th ReadAloud (that is including one Global ReadAloud) and my learners and I continue to love this connected way of literacy learning. It starts with the teachers passion and dedication and of course this will rub off! All the best to you and your class for what comes from the next few weeks of connected literacy. Hope you will consider continuing in Term 2 and 3:)
