Say "No" to peer pressure.

Constable Julie gave us some strategies to use when friends try and make us do something that we don't want to do.  We could...

  • Make an excuse
  • Say 'No' like you mean it
  • Change the subject
  • Be confident
  • Talk about the consequences
  • Walk Away
  • Tell the teacher

Thanks Constable Julie.  We feel confident now.

We've been reading about milk today as it's World Milk Day.  Click on the link below and see if you learn anything new.

Mystery Google Hangout Today with..... Tamatea Intermediate

We could only ask questions that could be answered with a yes or a no!

We explored:
Northern and Southern Hemisphere
the directions of the compass- Never eat soggy weetbix!
Cities vs towns- howmany does it take?
Coastal- what is that?
Geography of our own Aotearoa..... Are you North of Taupo?

It was sunny here- see the reflection
Our thinking to work out where they were
They were 'The one6' at Tamatea Intermediate in Napier

Thanks "the one6" for being so patient with us on our first Mystery Google Hangout.

We also think that we had an advantage with the Intermediate and uniform!

NYLD!

I was one of the 25 children that luckily got to go to the National Young Leaders Day  (NYLD 16) they had a lot of people there for instance there was Dave from Avalanche City. There was Billy Graham who owns the nba Naenae Boxing Academy and much more. There were heaps of people there that are all great leaders and they all were trying to make a change in the world and if you are responsible this is an event you don't want to miss. Corey  Purvis

At National Young Leaders Day there were lots of very inspirational people who shared about them and their story. Along with all their stories came many inspirational things.  One that I heard and something that I really liked was that Billy Graham said "No one ever asked me what I can't do because no one cares about what you can't do,they care about what you can do" in other words don't not do something because you might fail- go for it.  Ruby Carroll

Sally the wonder dog came to teach us some more

It was great to meet Sally today, Mr Gendall's dog.  With our buddies we reminded ourselves about what we had found out of Wednesday when we had a visit from Amber, another 4 legged friend.

Sally has a real connection with tennis balls and she showed off her skills.
